Ventura County, CA

After retiring from the State of California, I was asked to join Disaster Recovery Experts as the Planning Section Chief and Senior Environmental Specialist in the recovery and cleanup efforts following the 2024 Mountain Fire in Ventura County. I spent four months managing the construction contractor and the consulting contractor in charge of data management and environmental monitoring. We finished the project $4 million under budget and before the deadline.

Various Locations in CA

Since 2010 I have worked on the cleanup of homes destroyed in 20+ wildfires. These ranged in size from 40 homes to 13,000 homes (Camp Fire) which consumed the town of Paradise, claimed the lives of over 80 individuals and destroyed nearly 90% of the town's structures.

As the the Planning Section Chief and Lead Environmental Specialist, I managed the construction contactors and the consulting contractors. This firsthand experience has forever changed my perspective on ensuring community safety, developing proactive fire prevention and recovery plans, and using resources wisely when managing cleanup and rebuilding our lives and homes.

Lincoln, CA

… And if you think about the pressure of the jobs above, you might like to know that in my free time, I was the Treasurer for Fieldhaven Feline Rescue, a 501c3 organization in Placer County. Yes, fluffy cats are soothing to the soul, and after dealing with environmental disasters in our backyard, I couldn’t resist providing loving, safe, and healing homes for the kittens! I have also fostered over 100 kittens in the past 14 years with various rescues in the Sacramento area and hope to foster many more.

Lake of The Pines, CA

After moving to Lake of the Pines, I became an active Firebelles Volunteer (Snack Shack Scheduler, Server, etc.) and learned to golf! Although I’m a newbie on the golf course and bocce courts, I love living in this fantastic community with so much to offer. Kayaking, Golfing, Wine In The Pines, Water Aerobics, Water Skiing, Salsa and Line Dancing, Books, Bunco, Bocce, Pickleball… the list is seemingly endless. Our home is precious! Let’s focus on the Lake, and the rest will follow.
